Byl rodák z Úherců nedaleko Mladé Boleslavi. Narodil se 14. února 1910. Hudební nadání zdědil po svém otci a už od šesti let se učil hrát na housle, později na violu, kontrabas, trubku, klavír a violoncello. Na pražské konzervatoři studoval lesní roh, skladbu, dirigování a instrumentaci. Jako hráč, nebo dirigent působil v různých orchestrech (Vinohradská opera, lázeňský orchestr v Luhačovicích, Český rozhlas a další). Po roce 1945 se stává kapelníkem Posádkové hudby v Praze a později hudby Hradní stráže. Své všestranné zkušenosti a znalosti uplatnil i v Armádním uměleckém souboru, kde působil jako šéfdirigent. Ke konci své umělecké kariéry působil jako hlavní inspektor vojenských hudeb na Ministerstvu národní obrany v Praze. Významně přispěl k vysoké úrovni českých vojenských hudeb a k rozvoji instrumentace skladeb pro dechové orchestry.
Na počest Jana Fadrhonse se každoročně koná v místě jeho rodiště festival dechových orchestrů. V roce 2000 již jubilejní 30. ročník. Byl velkým příznivcem Podnikového dechového orchestru ŠKODA AUTO, k jehož řadě členů měl velmi přátelské vztahy. Díky velké osobnosti Jana Fadrhonse byla navázána spolupráce s Ústřední hudbou Československé lidové armády. Ta spočívala hlavně v odborné pomoci jejích dirigentů, kteří jezdili do Mladé Boleslavi a pomáhali svými zkušenostmi a odborností při nácviku skladeb. Díky tomu se obohatil a zpestřil i repertoár a aranžmá skladeb.
Jan Fadrhons sám působil v první polovině padesátých let nepravidelně jako poradce-dirigent u Podnikového dechového orchestru ŠKODA AUTO. Od počátku této spolupráce měla úroveň orchestru stoupající tendenci. V roce 1961 odešel ze zdravotních důvodů do důchodu v hodnosti podplukovníka. Zemřel v roce 1963.
He was born in Úherce, a village near Mladá Boleslav, on 14 February, 1910. His flair for music he inherited from his father and already as a six-year-old boy he began to learn to play the violin, viola, contrabass, trumpet, piano and violoncello. At the Prague conservatoire he studied the French horn, composing, conducting and instrumentation. He was a member of various orchestras (Vinohrady Opera House, Luhačovice Spa Orchestra, The Czech Radio Orchestra, etc.), both as a player and conductor. After 1945 he became the bandmaster of the Prague Garrison Orchestra and, later on, the Prague Castle Guard Band. He could take advantage of his versatile experience and knowledge also in the Military Art Ensemble, where he held the function of chief conductor. By the end of his career, he worked as a chief inspector of military bands at the Ministry of Defence in Prague. He contributed significantly to the high level of Czech military bands and to the advancement of Brass Orchestra repertory instrumentation.
As a tribute to Jan Fadrhons, a festival of brass music takes place annually in his birthplace. In 2000, it was the 30th jubilee year of this festival. He was a fervent follower of the ŠKODA AUTO Company Brass Orchestra and he went on very well with many of its members. Thanks to this personality, a cooperation with the Czechoslovak Army Central Band was established. This cooperation lay mainly in professional help from its conductors, who paid visits to Mladá Boleslav and whose experience and professionality helped the Orchestra when studying compositions. This led to the enrichment and diversification of the repertory and arrangements of the pieces.
Jan Fadrhons himself occasionally worked in ŠKODA AUTO Company Brass Orchestra as a conducting advisor. From the utmost beginning of this cooperation, the level of the Orchestra showed a tendency of improving itself. In 1961, Jan Fadrons retired for the health reasons in the rank of lieutenant colonel. He died in 1963.
Er stammt aus Uherece unweit von Mladá Boleslav. Er wurde am 14. Februar 1910 geboren. Die musikalische Begabung erbte er von seinem Vater und schon seit sechs Jahren lernte er Geige, später Bratsche, Kontrabass, Trompete, Klavier und Violoncello spielen. An dem Prager Konservatorium studierte Horn, Komposition, Dirigieren und Instrumentation. Als Spieler oder Dirigent war er in vielen Orchestern (Oper in Vinohrady, Kurortorchester in Luhačovice, Tschechischer Rundfunk usw.) tätig. Nach dem Jahre 1945 wurde er zum Kappellmeister der Garnisonsmusik in Prag und danach der Burgwachekapelle. Seine allseitige Erfahrungen und Kenntnisse machte er im Militärensemble nützlich, wo er den Posten des Chefdirigenten innehatte. Am Ende seiner künstlerischen Laufbahn arbeitete er als Hauptinspektor der Militärkapellen auf dem Ministerium der Nationalverteidigung in Prag. Mit seiner Arbeit trug er reichlich zur Steigerung des hohen Niveaus der Militärkapellen und zur Entwicklung der Instrumentation für die Blasorchester bei.
Zum Andenken Jan Faderhons findet sich alljährlich ein Blasmusikfestival in seinem Geburtsort statt - im Jahre 2000 schon der 30. Jahrgang. Er war ein großer Förderer des ŠKODA AUTO Blasorchesters, zu dessen vielen Mitgliedern er sehr freundliche Beziehungen pflegte. Dank seiner Persönlichkeit wurde die Zusammenarbeit mit der Zentralkapelle der tschechoslowakischen Armee angeknüpft. Die bestand hauptsächlich in der Fachhilfe der Dirigenten, die nach Mladá Boleslav fuhren und beim Proben behilflich waren. Dadurch wurden auch Repertoire und Arrangements bereichert.
